2012 Zinkin Classic

The 11th Annual Zinkin Classic, which takes place on December 21st & 22nd,  2012 is now full. This is a 48-man bracket, true double elimination varsity tournament held on 8-11 mats with 3-sided digital clocks over two days. We will again have a large & small school champion along with awards for the top 3 teams and all wrestlers earning 1st – 8th place.

The Zinkin Classic has become one of the premiere wrestling tournaments in the state of California. Seven of the past ten California State Team Champions began their season by participating in the Zinkin. Last year’s tournament included over 60 teams throughout the state. Here is how the field fared at the 2012 California State Tournament:

-3 State Champions
-7 State Finalists
-22 State Medalists
-80 State Qualifiers
-State Team Champions

Contracts have been sent out to the best teams in the Western United States as we look to make the Zinkin a national caliber tournament. It is important to secure a spot for your team as soon as possible as we will only be taking the first 70 teams to sign and return their contract. We have top teams participating from around California and states such as Oregon, Nevada and Texas, and Alaska which gives us quality, top-end competition.

If you are one of the participating teams listed below please continue reading this page for more information concerning weigh-in times and the tourney schedule. If you have further questions please contact Lonnie_Nash@hotmail.com or call me at (559) 905-0232
